"SAMMY AND ME"

"I would like to begin writing about Sammy and me by telling you all our romance is no publicity stunt. Take it from me - it's for real!

"I first met Sam in London back in February, during out English tour. Screen Gems' British promotion manager, Cyril Black, was rushing me and Mike into the 'Top of the Pops' studio to receive an award for 'I'm a Believer'. He was about to rush us right out again when - wham! - there was Sammy. The minute I saw her, I knew I wanted to date her.

"But I'm kind of shy you know, so I asked Cyril if he'd do me the favor and call her... tell her I'd like to meet her properly. He did and Sam came along that same evening to Grosvenor House where I was staying. She was just so great, I knew we'd make a happening together.

"Not only did we spend that evening together, but the whole of the next day, too, and any following spare time I had was spent with Sammy.

"We went shopping together - Sammy helped me choose my sister a present in BIBA's boutique and I bought her one of those adjustable shoulder bags. On another shopping trip, I bought her a keepsake pendant to remind her of me when I left for the States.

"Then, every night, we went clubbing to outasite places like the Bag O'Nails, the Cromwellian and Scotch of St. James. And there were lots of parties like the one Sammy took me to where I met Cliff Richard - he's a nice guy, we talked for a long time.

"I know many people thought it was the end of our romance when I flew back home, but believe me, it wasn't. There were phone calls and then Sammy flew out to California to join me. She stayed a month, even though at first it was only going to be two weeks.

"By this time, everyone knew Sammy was MY girl, but they were also saying we had been secretly married. To set the record straight, Sammy and I are not married - yet!

"When Mike, Davy, Peter and I returned to London in June for a series of concert tours, Sammy and I were again together. In fact, she came to every concert - how's that for loyalty!

"And once again, she paid me a return trip to the States, so that I could show her more of Los Angeles.

"Why is Sam my kind of girl? Well, a lot of reasons, but here are some. First, she's marvelous to look at - straight brown hair streaked with blonde; huge blue eyes and thick black lashes.

"She's 5'7" with long legs and neat little hands. But although she looks kinda delicate, she's very strong underneath. Every guy wants a girl who understands him, but no guy wants a 'yes' girl, and Sammy's no 'yes' girl, that's for sure!

"She knows right away which people she likes and who she wants for friends. And when she falls in love, she falls in love with a bang.

"She's in modeling, music, and knows how to make her own clothes yet!

"Do I love Sam? Yeah, yeah, yeah!

"Will I marry her? Well, what do you think?!!"
